Technical and Market Structure Analysis

Broadcom’s tape through August 8, 2026 showed a constructive near-term trend, but one that was increasingly dependent on event risk and marginal liquidity. The shares traded above their 21-, 50-, and 200-day exponential moving averages and carried a technical score of 95 out of 100 as of August 7. RSI at 64.82 confirmed firm momentum without reaching the conventional overbought threshold of 70 16. Relative strength during a broader semiconductor selloff further supported the bullish diagnosis 15.

That evidence is not sufficient to conclude that the advance is broadly sponsored or immune to reversal. Trading volume was below the stated average in at least one important session, options activity was heavily concentrated in puts, and large dark-pool prints were directionally ambiguous. The appropriate conclusion is therefore a positive tactical bias with a relatively narrow margin for error.
